WK6: Erasing Markers of Difference presentation outline

For the upcoming presentation, our group decided to make uses of the first reading – Hong Kong Cyberculture: A Case Study by Amy Lai Tak-yee to explain and give details about how cyberspace led to the discrimination and setting up the boundary in between people though we believed that Internet should be public, peace and free.

And, according to the reading, we sum up her ideas as the web do divide and marginalized certain groups as follows,

1. The class differences
2. Racism
3. Gender discrimination
4. Homophobia

Even though the physical bodies are not engaged in the online communities, the author mentioned that virtual-turned-real-life stalking of some ideal figures who are actually “real people”. That means, the online avatar is created by ourselves with our self-experiences and self-wishes which finally turn to be a hyperreality and influences individuals behavior and thinking offline.

Of course, after going through the author ideas, our groups is going to comment on the article which we basically agree with Lai's opinion and going to present some local example we discover and hopefully those information could help into understanding the concept much more.

The title should be the 'presentation outline', sorry for incorrect wording.
