Are blogs journalism? If not, what’s the difference?

To some extents, our group thinks that blogs are journalism. It contains some features of traditional journalism, such as reporting the news and editing. In fact, other than the information provided by the main stream media, the blogs sometimes have more details of news and it may be more instant than the traditional news media.

On the other hand, some critics argued that it is not journalism, because of the accuracy and subjectivity of blogging. Comparing with professional journalists who have been well trained, the bloggers may not follow the professional guideline. So, they report news informally. In this way, the accuracy of the blogs is being challenged.

To conclude, we think that it will be the new trends of journalism. It is because the definition of journalism is gradually changing due the new media in this era.
